The record release show for 0pen The Sky is upon us. 11/11 is this Monday. We have been fanning the flames of fire for months now. The coals are hot and the bottoms of our feet are scorched. The smoke no longer makes us caught and thick clouds become our home. The mighty dragon has awakened and the.... something something something.

It's hard to be dramatic when all you really want to do is have a good time. We can leave that business to Nick Cave or Tom Waits.

The band started recording the album exactly one year ago. Now it's an object you can love and hold, suitable for framing. The LP, courtesy of Beyond Beyond Is Beyond records, is available in all Chicago record stores, nation-wide, internationally, and on the internet. There are a ton of options for you to get it. But it really only means something to us if you pry it from our hands in person.

In the news...
Velcro and the boys will be featured on ABC 7 Chicago this Sunday.
Karen Meyer paid a visit to Frogg Mountain to talk to Velcro and witness some live jammin' in the studio.
It airs during the 8 am CST broadcast on channel 7.1.

Source Family Documentary Performance

Velcro will be performing at the open of THE SOURCE FAMILY documentary June 14 at the Music Box Theater. The group will consist of members from CAVE, Plastic Crimewave Sound, and GA'An.
They will be performing music by Ya Ho Wha 13 as well as improvised pieces inspired by Father Yod and the Source Family.

Andy Slater/Velcro Lewis will be receiving a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from SAIC in May. His offering to the Film Video New Media fest is an album side of all new material from the band. The album was recorded and produced by Slater at his Frogg Mountain Studio.
